It’s a good job we like to be in Trini because we are still here! Projects continue on the boat and we have decided it’s far to late to rush up to the States this spring so we’re going to hang fire and leave here in October/November this year to get an early start. We would like to get to Puerto Rico for Christmas then visit the Dominican Republic and Cuba before moving on to Florida in the New Year.
Pat is due back at the hospital mid April for a check up and then probably again 6 months later so she is going home for two separate months. Our visas here run out at the end of February so then we are going to sail down to the Monamo river in Venezuela for 3 or 4 weeks before returning to Trinidad. Pat is then flying home, arriving on the 5th April. Mike is planning to attack the starboard side coach roof this year and he will hopefully be finished the main work by Pat’s return on 2nd May. When she leaves again for a September/October appointment Mike will finish off any work left to do then head up to Grenada himself while Pat flies back to there after her month at home again. That is the plan!
Well, that is all in the future. For now we have just been working on getting the boat seaworthy again and we are slowly getting there. Mike will fill you in on that on his page here.
We haven’t really done anything exciting this month apart from work. Pat went for a couple of hikes in the nearby forest with a few friends and painted out the fore cabin which hadn’t been touched since we left home in 2007!
At least we will be here for Carnival again and we will definitely be playing in J’ouvert again, the best experience last year. Hopefully, most of the work will be finished by then (mid February) so that is something to look forward to.
Until then, there are just a few photos and movies below.
See you next month.
